  • Aluminum Fanless
    • For a hard drive that doesn't need the best cooling, this option works well. Aluminum dissipates heat decently well, as long as there is good thermal contact between the drive and the enclosure. Not needing a fan means there is less dust.
    • These drives don't have built in power supplies because they produce too much heat.
